Strange installation problem

I'm the owener of an originial windows xp version with service pack 2 and all the stuff. Now i've downloaded the from microsoft site windows vista beta x64 because my processor is a 64 bit. The problem is that when i mount the iso. it says that is not a valid win32 application. Even if i burn it on a DVD its the same problem. I've also tried to boot the dvd before i access in my old windows version but noway. So.......whats the deal guys!?!?!?!?

Windows XP is a 32-bit system. Windows x64 is a 64-bit system. They don't get along so well.
The
only way to install x64 Beta is a "clean" install, not an upgrade. Which of course will delete everything you currently have on your computer.
This has been discussed at length. Please use the search feature of the newsgroup for more information.
